JTBC’s newest Friday-Saturday drama “Chief of Staff” has released a new making video of the actors hard at work!
“Chief of Staff” tells the story of the political players who influence the world from the shadows. Lee Jung Jae plays Jang Tae Joon, who is a talented advisor to assemblyman Song Hee Seob (played by Kim Kap Soo), and Shin Min Ah has taken on the role of the newly-appointed assemblywoman Kang Sun Young.
The behind-the-scenes video opens with Lee Jung Jae and Shin Min Ah trying to perfect the mood of their romantic scene. Although the director tries to explain what he’s looking for, the scene becomes difficult to portray. Shin Min Ah says, “I’m not sure I understand what mood the director wants…” Nonetheless, despite all the awkward moments, Shin Min Ah continues to throw out different ideas to get the scene just right.
In the clip that follows, Lee Jung Jae and Shin Min Ah playfully rehearse and discuss the small kissing scene they’re getting ready to shoot. The two continue to film in a lighthearted atmosphere and try to contain their laughter until they capture the perfect shot.
Meanwhile, at the office set, Lee Elijah shows off the small plants decorating the office. The director then walks in saying, “Of course Song Hee Seob is the best! So cool,” complimenting Kim Kap Soo’s acting. The director continues to be charmed by Kim Kap Soo as the actor tries to maintain eye contact with the characters and intimidate with his eyes. However, he reveals, “My eyes almost fell out. It’s because I haven’t been acting in sageuk (Korean historical drama) lately. I don’t know how I did it in the past.”
Finally, ZE:A’s Kim Dong Jun is shown listening enthusiastically to the director as he prepares to film his scene. The making video ends with Kim Dong Jun practicing writing his name in Chinese characters all over the sheet of paper he’s given.
“Chief of Staff” airs every Friday and Saturday at 11 p.m. KST.
